Hospital visitor confronted by armed man www.privateofficer.com

Monday a masked gunman at the Sarasota Memorial Hospital startled a visitor who was at the hospital to see a patient when he came up from behind her and showed her a handgun.
As the woman was walking in the stairwell of the garage outside of the hospital, the man approached her with the weapon.
He soon fled in an unknown direction and the woman immediately notified the security department which in turn called the Sarasota Police.
Officers and the security staff made a complete search of the hospital grounds and nearby streets but could not find the man.
The woman was not hurt and neither police nor security said whether or not the woman was robbed or if there was any attempt of any kind of assault, sexual or otherwise.

The hospital did not disclose if this was the first such incident on campus or if there had been other incidents recently but they did say that they would be ramping up their security.
