TALLAHASSEE FLA. March 24 2008 - Shots rang out over the week-end on one florida campus and police are still investigating whether or not the bullets were meant for them.
According to authorities, Florida A&M University's campus police have arrested five people in connection with gunfire on the campus Friday. Police say that no one was injured. during the late night shooting but have not figured out what caused the people in custody to fire off the rounds.
According to the university, the shooting began after an argument with unknown persons at about 1:50 p.m. on an area of the campus known as "the set."
Police officers quickly responded to the area and found a group gathered and asked those involved in the argument to leave.
Shortly afterward, police say that they heard shots fired and returned to the area and arrested five people.
According to campus police, only one of the five was a student at FAMU.
FAMU said those arrested include:*Rashad Bell and Renaldo Bell, who were charged with possessing a firearm on school grounds and possessing a stolen firearm. They are not FAMU students.
*Benjamin Robinson, a Tallahassee Community College student charged with three counts of aggravated assault, possessing a firearm on school grounds, shooting into an occupied vehicle and possessing a weapon with an altered serial number.
*Antoine Willam, a FAMU student charged with possessing a weapon on school grounds.
*Corey Johns, a Bethune-Cookman University student who was charged with aiding and abetting and being an accessory.
Authorities are investigating who those bullets were intended for.
In the meantime all five were booked into the city jail pending bond hearings.
