Shoplifter speeds away from police www.privateofficer.com

PARADISE CA. March 18 2008 -- The Paradise Police Department arrested a 36-year-old woman after she allegedly stole groceries and drove recklessly through town Friday.
In the parking lot outside the Safeway store on Clark Road, employees attempted to contact a woman they suspected of shoplifting $355 worth of groceries at 2:10 p.m., according to a Paradise police press release.

The woman, later identified as Kimberly Vanbibber, allegedly entered her vehicle and quickly backed up -- colliding with a grocery cart and nearly striking an employee.
Witnesses, including Paradise Volunteers in Police Services, saw Vanbibber leave the parking lot in a reckless manner, run a traffic light and allegedly force motorists off the road.
Officers located Vanbibber parked at a Greenwood Lane residence. Police arrested her on suspicion of strong arm robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and reckless driving.
Vanbibber was taken to Butte County jail on bail of $56,000.

The Police Department asks for witnesses with additional information to contact the department at 872-6241.
