Police are investigating a serious stabbing and are now on the look-out for a suspect who left a security officer stabbed and in critical condition. Police have now released a sketch of a man sought in connection with the stabbing that took place outside a Tempe bar .
According to the information that investigators were able to piece together, the suspect is described as a black man who is in his early 20s. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has short, shaved black hair and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with a design over a red T-shirt, dark jeans and tennis shoes.
Witnesses told police the attacker may have been accompanied by another man described only as having a dark complexion.
Although the details and description is sketchy police say that they are confident that they can capture the person or persons responsible for the stabbing of the 39 year old security officer who was on duty at the La Pita Bar located at 505 S. Mill Avenue at around 9:10pm Friday night.
The security officer suffered stab wounds to the chest and arms, police said.
The attacker fled the scene southbound on foot and could not be located.

Police say that there was some type of confrontation out front of the bar and it involved the security officer and possible the suspect and several other men but they aren't saying what the details of the argument was.
Volunteers handed out flyers along Mill Avenue Monday evening hoping someone will come forward with information about the crime.
People who witnessed the altercation or who have any knowledge leading to the identity of the attacker should contact the Tempe Police Department at 480-350-8311 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
Police are not releasing the name of the security officer right now.
