ARDEN NC — Buncombe County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man wanted on shoplifting and resisting public officer charges on Wednesday evening.
Duane Ellis Anderson, 51, of Edney Lane, was arrested in front of the Ingle’s on Long Shoals Road. The arrest warrants were issued last month, a sheriff’s incident report shows. Additional information about the charges was not immediately available

COVINA TX - A man stole several pairs of jeans and exposed himself at a store Thursday, police said.The incident was reported about 1:15 p.m. at a small clothing outlet in the 400 block of East San Bernardino Road, said Covina police Lt. Scott Pierson.A man entered the store and stood several feet away from a female employee in her 40s, Pierson said.The woman noticed the man's pants were down around his ankles and he was exposing himself, he said.The woman made eye contact with the man and he grabbed four pairs of jeans from a shelf and ran from the store while pulling up his pants, Pierson said.The man was last seen getting into a green Toyota Camry with a driver, he said.The shoplifter was described as a Latino between 30 and 40 years old, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, and weighing about 150 pounds, Pierson said.

BUCKSPORT ME — A former town of Bucksport employee has been accused of stealing over $9,000 from the town.
A complaint filed in Hancock County Superior Court states that Darla Crawford, 50, of Orland has been charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.
The thefts allegedly occurred between May 27, 2005, and July 17, 2006, the complaint states.
The filing states that authorities are requesting jail time as well as restitution of $9,300 plus investigation costs if Crawford is convicted of the theft.
The theft is considered a class C felony, which carries a maximum possible prison sentence of five years and a $5,000 fine.
Bucksport Police Detective Sgt. Sean Geagan was the investigating officer.


Steubenville Ohio

Steubenville police have released the identity of the man they say tried to steal from Wal-Mart.
According to officers, Daniel Renforth, 20, of Mingo Junction, remained at-large as of Friday morning.
Police said he tried to steal from the Steubenville Wal-Mart Thursday afternoon.
Officers said Renforth took a swing at a loss prevention officer, struggled with him and took off.

Irondequoit A woman was charged with larceny in connection with a shoplifting incident at Sears at the Medley Centre Mall on March 5.

Tahlequah
Tahlequah police officers had to deal with two separate shoplifting incidents Wednesday evening at Wal-Mart.The first was around 4 p.m., when police were told a shoplifter had run from store staff. The man, William Lowrey, 43, was leaving in his truck as officers arrived. He drove away at a high rate of speed and left of center, according to the police report.An officer stopped the man on Daisy Drive. The suspect allegedly admitted to previously drinking alcohol. He was arrested for driving under the influence and driving under suspension.At about 5:30 p.m., officers were again called to Wal-Mart, where a second shoplifter was fleeing from store personnel. The store’s asset protection said the man, Darryll Reed, 22, was seen sacking up items and leaving the store without attempting to pay. When asked to produce the receipt, the man shoved a cart of merchandise at the store personnel and ran.An officer made contact with Reed while another viewed video surveillance, but Reed allegedly admitted to an officer he was the one they were looking for, and that he had taken the items from Wal-Mart.Reed was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center for larceny of merchandise from a retailer and criminal trespass, as he had been banned in February from the store when he was caught shoplifting.


Concord NH
The Concord police are asking for help identifying the person or people responsible for a recent shoplifting spree at Target on D'Amante Drive.
Between Jan. 30 and Feb. 18, radar detectors were stolen three times, the police said. The radar detectors are valued at $100 each, the police said.
Anyone with information about the shoplifting is asked to contact the Concord Regional Crimeline.

NASHUA, N.H. - A Massachusetts man has been arrested in New Hampshire on a shoplifting charge after police said the man was found with numerous DVDs under his clothing in a Costco store.Twenty four-year-old Nathan Moore of Gardner, Mass., was arrested Thursday. They said Moore was in a Costco Wholesale store in Nashua and was detained by store personnel after he left.Police retrieved the DVDs from Moore. They said they were worth more than $1,000.Moore was to be arraigned Friday.

Phoenix AZ. A Phoenix police officer early Friday shot and wounded a man in south Phoenix who apparently had pulled a beer run a short time earlier.Police spokesman Sgt. Andy Hill said police were responding to a call around 6:40 a.m. of an armed man stealing beer and fleeing the store. An officer confronted the fleeing man near 17th Avenue and Maldonado Road, around Baseline Road, and shot him during a confrontation, Hilll said..The suspect, whose name was not immediately available, reportedly crash his vehicle into a concrete wall after the shooting and was taken to a local hospital. The unidentified officer was not injured


Richmond VA. Henrico County police have arrested a woman on charges she used three teenage daughters to help her shoplift from the Wal-Mart on Brook Road.Carolyn Palmer, 35, is charged with shoplifting and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.Police said her daughters -- ages 14, 15 and 17 -- are charged with shoplifting.Police said Palmer had one girl serve as a lookout and two others help her steal various items from the store.

Wilkesboro NC

A Wilkes woman suspected of shoplifting at numerous stores in North Carolina and Tennessee has now been charged with an additional case in Wilkesboro. Emily Church had remained unidentified until this week, when Lowes security officials provided a security tape to Wilkesboro police from the incident which happened in late February. In the original report, police were told a woman had picked up power tools in the store, walked past the registers without paying, and right through the sensors at the exit, which went off because the tools had not been scanned. She continued into the parking lot, according to an employee, and got into a green Jeep with a broken rear window. The employee says a white male was at the wheel, and they sped off. He got a tag number, but that tag was registered to a Honda, not a Jeep, and the car had not been reported stolen. After obtaining the video from Lowes security, Wilkesboro Police identified Church as the woman shows stealing the power saw, a DeWalt model sold for four hundredd ninety nine dollars. She was charged with the crime Monday and picked up by a deputy. When officers tired to interview her about the theft, she would not say anything about it.


METRO VANCOUVER - Shoppers who recently used their debit cards at either of two La Senza outlets or the Aldo Shoe boutique in Park Royal Mall should quickly change their access codes, West Vancouver Police advise.Park Royal retailers reported debit card PIN pads from all three shops were stolen on March 7 during the lunch hour, police stated in a written release.The theft scheme may be similar to a number last year where thieves swapped legitimate PIN pads with replacements rigged to record private codes from shoppers. After recording hundreds of codes, the thieves swapped the pads again and used the codes to steal money from bank accounts
Police are also asking businesses to find ways to safeguard debit card PIN pads by securing them to a steel cable or stamping an identifying brand on the PIN pad instrument


DENVER CO– Police hope you'll help them catch a thief who might smell like the cologne he stole.

Last month police say a man walked into the Sears store located at 2375 E. 1st Ave. in Cherry Creek with a shopping bag and stole a gift set of cologne. When he tried to walk out of the store, a security officer confronted the shoplifter. Police say the suspect pulled out a knife and told the security officer not to touch him. The suspect then left the store. Police say the suspect was a Hispanic man between 50 and 64 years old. Witnesses say he was about 5 feet 5 inches tall with medium complexion. The suspect has a mustache and gray or partially gray hair. If you can help police catch the suspect, call 720-913-STOP (7867). Your tip could be worth a cash reward.


Valdosta GA.
At 2:49 p.m., police responded to a store on Baytree Road where they arrested Valenica Valenti Ramsey, 21, of Valdosta, on a charge of shoplifting, reports said.
• At 5:51 p.m., police responded to a store on Baytree Road, where they arrested Nikki Natasha Robinson on a charge of shoplifting, according to reports. Robinson also was charged with interference of an officer after she gave a false last name and date of birth, reports said.

Tempe AZ A 46-year-old Tempe woman was arrested on the 700 block of East Southern Avenue the evening of March 10 on suspicion of shoplifting, possession of a dangerous drug and possession of drug paraphernalia, police reported.The woman concealed $18.70 worth of merchandise from a 99-cent store in her handbag and walked out of the store, according to the police report.In her purse, they found a clear glass pipe with white residue and a white crystal substance that appeared to be methamphetamine in a clear plastic baggie, police reported.The woman was transported to Tempe City Jail.
Salem MA. Thomas A. Murphy, 26, of 43 Boston St., Salem, was arrested at 4:30 p.m. and charged with shoplifting (third subsequent offense) after an incident at Walgreens on New Derby Street.

Peabody MA. Olga Gusmini, 29, of 6 Corinthian Way, Georgetown, was arrested at 3 p.m. and charged with shoplifting after an incident at TJ Maxx.]

Danvers MA. Gregory Inuyama, 17, of 95 South St., Lynn; Richard Fawehinmi, 17, of 27 Mystic Ave., Lynn; and two 16-year-olds were arrested at 3:34 p.m. and charged with shoplifting after an incident at Kohl's.


FRAMINGHAM MA.- A Framingham man was arrested yesterday at 5:47 a.m. after police said he shoplifted at Wal-Mart.Barry Yeboah, 36, of 12 Greenview St., was charged with shoplifting of property worth more than $100, police said.

CORPUS CHRISTI TX- An off-duty police officer helped nab a shoplifter outside the HEB in the Moore Plaza Shopping Center. The police officer said he saw a security guard chasing the shoplifter in the parking lot when he decided to step in and help catch her.
The police officer told Channel 6 News that the woman is a regular shoplifter and she has been on the HEB security's radar for awhile now. 6 News learned the woman was trying to steal meat from the store and is now facing theft charges.

Paso Robles Ca Police are looking for someone who reportedly threatened a man with a knife at the parking lot of the Target store on Theater Drive on Wednesday afternoon.The man ran away after the reported assault, and wasn’t injured, according to a press release distributed Thursday night by the Paso Robles Police Department.Officers didn’t find the assailant after searching the area. The motive for the assault is unknown, police said.The assailant was described as a white man about 20 years old, about 6 feet tall and with a thin build, with light-colored hair, police said.He was last seen wearing an olive-colored T-shirt, blue jeans and a dark baseball cap, according to police.Based on a review of security video, officers found that a number of people witnessed the assault.Paso Robles police ask that anyone who might have witnessed the assault call Officer Kelly Dawson at 237-6464. Witnesses can remain anonymous, police said.

FRAMINGHAM MA.- A local woman was arrested Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., after police said she shoplifted at CVS pharmacy at 145 Concord St.Haydee Garcia, 58, of 75 Irving St., Apt. 511, was charged with larceny shoplifting, violating a no-trespassing order, and a warrant for a previous shoplifting offense.According to police, Garcia placed several items inside a blue bag, including Goya ground beef, spray cologne, body wash, Progresso soup, Equal, Raisinets and melatonin vitamins totaling $70.30.


Mesa County Co.
Deputies responded to a business at 569 32 Road on a report of shoplifting. Arron Mendez, 24, was arrested on suspicion of possessing counterfeit money and Robert Blake, 29, was arrested on an warrant.

Grand Junction CO.
Gloria Tercero, 22, and Dora Zambranode-Gomez, 49, were arrested and released on a summons on suspicion of shoplifting at 2809 North Ave.

Bridgeton NJ

Lawrence K. Thomas, 45, of North Pearl Street, was arrested Wednesday on a shoplifting charge, accused of stealing two packages of bed sheets from Family Dollar, located in Hancock Center. He was arrested on South Avenue.

Robert L. Evans, 57, of Fremont Avenue, was arrested Wednesday on a shoplifting charge, accused of attempting to steal two boxes of shrimp from IGA, located in Hancock Center. He was released on his own recognizance.



Vernon Hills IL.
• Chanel Lakatosz, 19, 2092 Canarsie, Apt. 2, Brooklyn, NY., was arrested March 9 and charged with retail theft at Macy's in Westfield Hawthorn. She is accused of taking clothes and accessories and leaving without paying, police said. Value was estimated at $1,227. Her court date was not available.


Honolulu HI.

Police arrested a 44-year-old man who allegedly burglarized Sears at Pearlridge Center twice. On Tuesday, security officers monitoring video surveillance cameras at Sears saw the suspect stealing electronic items off a rack after the store had closed. Police were called but the suspect was gone when they arrived.
Yesterday, at about 10:50 p.m., motion sensors in the same store were set off and a security officer saw the same man in the store placing electronics items into his backpack. Police arrived again and arrested the suspect on suspicion of two counts of second-degree burglary.


Vernon Hills IL.
• Neringa Eidimtaite, 23, 1811 Koehling Road, Northbrook, was arrested March 4 and charged with possession of stolen property after a security agent for Macy's in Westfield Hawthorn stopped her and found merchandise stolen from several stores in the mall, police said. Her Waukegan court date was set for March 27.


GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Two women jumped another women as she left Four Seasons Town Centre on Thursday afternoon, said police.Police said the attack occurred in the parking deck near J.C. Penney.One of the women allegedly tried to steal the third woman's purse. They struggled until someone else in the parking lot ran over and chased the attackers away, according to police.The suspects did not get away with the purse.

Michael Hunsberger, 30, 3200 block Fairdale Rd., Philadelphia, 3:50 p.m., Wed, retail theft at Sears, Neshaminy Mall, to receive summons.



Papillion NE.
Papillion police are crediting footage from security cameras at Wal-Mart for the apprehension of a man accused of touching a woman inappropriately at the store.Police said cameras show the 57-year-old Omaha suspect entering the store the night of March 7. They also show him leaving the aisle where he is suspected of the inappropriate contact, and leaving the store, police said. Cameras did not record the incident.The woman told investigators that the man made comments of a sexual nature and pressed against her. She pushed him away, and he rubbed against her again and left, police said.After footage from the security cameras was broadcast on local television, police received several tips that led investigators to the man.He has been arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace.


Winona MN.
Winona police said a man who got in a scuffle at a local retailer Friday night turned out to be drunk and driving with his young children.Police were called to Wal-Mart Supercenter, 955 Frontenac Drive, to a report of a man fighting with several other people. By the time police arrived, store security had broken up the fight. Police learned from witnesses and store security the scuffle had started when a group of people noticed him “acting aggressively toward one of his children,” reports say. When several of thepeople in the group urged him to “stop hurting the child,” a fight broke out, which led to the call.Police arrested John Neal Meska, 33, of Winona. Police detected the smell of alcohol, and a portable breath test revealed a blood-alcohol content of 0.13 percent.Meska was taken into custody and booked for third-degree driving under the influence, an enhanced charge because he had his children, ages 4 and 2, in the car.


Denver CO.

MAN PUNCHES WAL-MART SECURITY OFFICER Police were called to Wal-Mart, 7455 W. Colfax Ave., at 4:29 p.m. March 1 on a report of a physical disturbance. A 20-year-old Arvada man had allegedly stolen a pair of men's shoes. When a security officer confronted him, the man punched the officer in the face, giving him a bloody nose. The man was arrested on suspicion of theft and third-degree assault and lodged at Jefferson County Jail.


Columbia SC
Richland police are looking for four suspects who allegedly stole more than $900 of merchandise from Kohl's on Saturday afternoon.Two women reportedly drove away in a brown van that's suspected in about seven other theft incidents at the store, Richland police said.Another female and male suspected of being involved in the incident left on foot toward the Columbia Center mall, police said. The woman was carrying a baby. Police said they've identified the man and one of the women in the van. Police are not releasing names because of an ongoing investigation.

Nashua NH
A Hudson woman is accused of stealing from the store where she worked by processing phony credit card sales, police reported. Mikel MacAuley, 22, of 8 Melba Drive, was arrested Thursday on a felony theft charge, and later released on personal recognizance bail, police reported Friday.She is accused of stealing from Pier 1 Imports from July 2007 through this month. Police didn't say how much she's accused of stealing, except that it topped $1,000.
